Celebrating Engineering – Pragnya ’14

On the 16th, 17th and 18th of October, GRIET donned a festive look with the annual Technical Symposium being back! Pragnya, the student organized technical fest opened to wide participation from technology enthusiasts all over.

The events that included workshops, technical and common events spanned over a course of three days with participants from various colleges. The first day was allotted for the Web Development Workshop and the Crazy Biped Robot Workshop. The latter attracted students to make their own robot and gain hands-on experience. The robot could walk, split into 180 degrees and move each of its legs to 90 degrees as per the commands transmitted through the controller board. Events like Paper and Poster Presentation also drew major participants. The second day had a variety of events taking place with each department organizing events and Mind games like Cryptography and Visual Illusions. Events such as Best entrepreneur, Movie Jam, Arduino B Quizzed and Piano Tiles interested students throughout the day.

Day 3 started with events like Techno Kraft, Bio Puzzle and Code Frenzy. Common events and GRIET regulars such as Blind Alley, Anti Chess and Beg, Borrow and Buy kept participants entertained. By afternoon, students assembled at the Center Stage were the Cultural events took off amidst fanfare. Numerous dances, songs, skits were performed. Students grooved to popular beats of the DJ. Special skits performed by participants from different colleges also drew applause from the audience. Another highlight was the organizers’ flash mob.

The three day event concluded successfully with participation from students of all years and branches from college all over the country. The fest gave an opportunity to implement classroom knowledge to practical skills. Being entirely student organized the fest also brought students together to put in their best efforts.
